Full Mouth Dental Implants

The “X” stands for the number of implants used—typically 4, but sometimes 5 or 6—depending on your bone structure and treatment plan. Your doctor will determine the best number of implants to give you lasting stability and comfort.

Unlike removable dentures, All-on-X implants are permanently fixed in place. They look, feel, and function like natural teeth—no slipping, adhesives, or discomfort. You can eat your favorite foods again and speak with total confidence.

Age is not a barrier to a new smile. Many of our patients are in their 60s, 70s, 80s — and even their 90s — when they choose to restore their confidence with the All-on-X procedure. What truly matters is your overall health and bone structure, not your age. 

Surgery typically takes about 2–3 hours per arch, and you’ll return the following day to receive your new set of teeth. The full healing process usually takes 3–6 months, allowing your implants to fully integrate with your jawbone. Once healing is complete, your final zirconia teeth are placed for a strong, beautiful, and permanent smile.

Your comfort is our priority. The All-on-X procedure is performed under anesthesia, so you’ll rest comfortably throughout your surgery. Most patients experience only mild soreness afterward, which is easily managed with over-the-counter pain medication. Discomfort typically fades within a few days, and most patients are able to return to work shortly after their procedure.

In the first few days after surgery, you’ll follow a liquid-only diet to allow your implants to begin healing properly. After that, you’ll transition to a soft-food diet—think foods you can easily cut with a plastic fork. This includes items like mashed potatoes, scrambled eggs, smoothies, soups, pasta, and soft fish.

Once you receive your final zirconia teeth, you’ll be able to enjoy all your favorite foods again—steak, apples, nuts, and more. Your permanent teeth are designed to restore nearly 100% of your natural chewing power, so you can eat with confidence and comfort.

It’s normal to notice slight speech changes as your mouth adjusts to your new teeth, but this is temporary and usually resolves within a few days to a couple of weeks. Taste is not affected since the implants do not cover your palate like dentures do. In fact, most patients say their speech, chewing, and overall comfort improve significantly once healing is complete and they receive their final zirconia bridge. You’ll be able to eat, talk, and smile just like you used to—only better.

Daily brushing, flossing (or using a water flosser), and regular dental check-ups will keep your implants and gums healthy. As part of our maintenance and cleaning package, you’ll receive three professional cleanings each year with one of our skilled dental hygienists.
